Dental Convention

Dr. Matheson and his assistant Beckee headed to the Utah Dental Convention held at the Salt Palace a few weeks ago! Beckee was certified in radiology and Doctor Matheson found himself some fun new gadgets. The Utah Dental Convention is an event put on every year by the American Dental Association.

The dental convention has always been a fun event for Matheson Dental. We love participating every year!

Dr. Michael K. Matheson

Doctor Michael K. Matheson was born and raised in Salt Lake City Utah. He attended Olympus High School then the University of Utah where he graduated with honors in Behavioral Science and Health. Dental School followed (1994-1998) at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Oklahoma City. While there, Dr. Matheson recieved graduation honors and awards for research in radiology and for outstanding performance in (pediatric) dentistry. He also completed extra course work in implant dentistry, hospital rotations in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery and an externship with an accomplished general dentist in Edmond Oklahoma. He continues to improve his skills and advance his education. He is board certified with the Western Regional Examining Board. Since graduation from dental school in 1998, Dr. Matheson has worked full time as a general dentist. Currently he works in his own office in Salt Lake City - Matheson Dental Associates. He thoroughly enjoys the practice of dentistry. He believes that every patient deserves to be treated in a gentle, friendly manner in a clean, professional environment and works very hard to see that this is accomplished. Dr. Matheson is proficient in all areas of dentistry including crown and bridge, root canals, gum disease, and implants. Believing that patients deserve an honest assessment of their oral health, Dr. Matheson diagnoses and treats but does not push unnesessary, expensive, elective, procedures. He also strives to limit waiting time for appointments and while in the office. He welcomes new patients and is available for emergency appointments. Dr. Matheson and his staff care about each and every patient. You and your family will be treated like best friends.

From Another Patient: My History with dentists prior to becoming one of Dr. Matheson's patients was that of abhorring having to go to a dental visit, as it usually ended in a lot of pain and suffering along with unsatisfactory dental services. The prior experiences with dentists and the passing of time left me in my fifties with a lot of dental work that needed to be performed. Fortunately, for me, I happen to have the good fortune of receiving Dr. Matheson's fine dental skills. During approximately a six month period, Dr. Matheson removed three of my teeth, placed in several back bridges, inserted a frontal bridge replacing my upper six teeth, and filled approximately forty cavities throughout my mouth. It should be apparent that I received extensive dental reconstructive services that were of excellent quality. Another unusual part of these services was the minimal pain that I experienced with Dr. Matheson's techniques. Perhaps his funny sense of humor alleviated some of the pain also... I no longer fear dental visits, provided it is with Dr. Matheson. Based on my experiences, I highly recommend the Dental Services of Dr. Michael K. Matheson. And Another: To whomever this letter concerns, and it should concern everyone looking for a GREAT dental experience: Dr. Matheson, and his expert and affable dental assistants are first of all, truly concerned about patient health; secondly, are not only experienced, but considerate of every patient's needs at every moment; and perhaps most important to the patient, they are PAINLESS and HUMOROUS!!! I never would have thought that those two descriptors could occur in the same sentence when speaking of dentists, but at Matheson Dental they are the rule, no the exception. Several years ago, after I had been going from dentist to dentist, my mother recommended Dr. Michael Matheson. With the former dentists, I had experienced not only painful appointments, but also simply their lack of concern for my ongoing dental health. On Mon's recommendation, I hoped - but didn't expect - to find a dentist who would work differently for me than the others. I was surprised, relieved, assured that I had finally found a personable and professional dentist. I even enjoyed the appointment! The same pleasant experience has occurred with both my son and my husband (who, when truth is told, had white-knuckled dread of past dentists.) And Another: I HATE going to the dentist. Prior to discovering Dr. Matheson's services I avoided it until my wife forced me to go - sometimes waiting over two years between cleanings. However, now both my wife and I are happier. My wife is happy because I get my teeth cleaned every six months and I am happier because the experience is much more enjoyable with Dr. Matheson!
